About the placement test

Every applicant must write a placement test before a seat can be offered.
- Why there is a placement test
- Places are awarded on the outcome of a placement test rather than on application order, so every applicant is assessed on the same basis.
- Why there is an application fee
- The application fee covers the cost of setting, invigilating and marking the placement test.
How the process works
- Apply online. Register, complete the application form and upload the supporting documents for your child.
- Pay the application fee. Pay online or by EFT using the payment reference shown on your payment page. The fee must be received before a test seat can be allocated.
- Write the placement test. Once your payment is verified the school schedules the test and notifies you of the date, time and venue.
- Receive the outcome. Results feed into the placement decision, and you are notified through this portal and by email.
